She's growing up!

Kelsie has been working on crawling for a while now. She would rock on her hands and knees, then she would scoot on her bump, then she would only crawl backwards. But FINALLY she's got it. She really started going good on Tuesday while they was stuff all over the floor. It must have been motivation. She wanted to grab all these new things. But on the bad side everything is fair game in her eyes. So out comes the gate to keep her from falling down the stairs, up go the decorations I have put out, and away with the toys that are choking hazards. She has also started pulling herself up onto stuff. She doesn't have enough leg muscles to hold her up so she ends up falling. It's a good thing she's got those chubby thighs so cushion her fall. So all in all Kelsie is getting so big and growing up so fast. I'm just wondering when her teeth are going to make it through.

A swimming pool in the basement?

Yesterday morning I woke up to find a swimming pool in the basement. I've always thought having a pool would be fun, but I'll stick to the kids' blow up pool OUTSIDE! Luckily I have a husband that deals with this kind of stuff for a living! After sucking up enough water to at least get stuff out of the basement we made a haul to the dump. While out and about we went to lunch , because you have to eat even if you house is flooding. So we get back home and the boss calls to tell him they need him asap. They have been bombarded with floods. So off he goes to take care of other peoples houses. BUT, I have the best family in the world!!!! I made a couple phone calls and immediately I had people at my house willing to help. We got everything out that needed to be out before Jason even got home. My in-laws were at my house until late helping suck out water and keeping the kids entertained. I was looking on the bright side of things and thought this is a good thing!!?? Now that my basement is empty and everything is in my parents shop, I'm going to go through it and have a garage sale. To refer back to a post about a month ago, stuff was overtaking my life and I just couldn't handle it. Every time I went downstairs it made me sick to see what I had ahead of me. I bought some storage stuff to organize, so what doesn't fit is going down the road. I love how the basement is empty and open. I might not let any of it come back! But anyways, we were lucky that nothing was ruined. All of my storage was stored in plastic bins so they were safe. The office/scrapbooking room had just been reorganized and cleaned. That was the room that the window well was full and the water was just pouring in. But thank goodness back in the day people couldn't lay a level concrete floor and all my pictures were DRY! I would have been so bitter if my pictures had been ruined that you might not hear from me for a while. Can you say Blackfoot South! But everything is going good, and everything is drying out great. Next time you come to my house you might not recognize it! There's always wishful thinking. Everyone have a good day and stay dry!

Back to normal

Things are finally getting back to normal around our house. I went out and bought some stuff to organize and I went to work. It's not perfect or near done, but at least I'm not pulling my hair out, or tripping over toys. In fact, my hair is starting to grow back. For those of you who didn't know my hair was falling out so fast about 4 months after I had Kelsie I thought I was going to go bald. Seriously!!! I got some special hair stuff from a beauty supply house, and used it everyday for about 3 months. And now I can finally see some results. ( keep it on the DL, but I thought about putting it in Jason's shampoo just to see if anything would happen, but I think that is a lost cause!)I have baby sprouts all over the top of my head. Now I know where Carter gets his hair that stands straight up. I've got a lot of updates for tomorrow. Brielle's last basketball game, valentines boxes, and other stuff so check back tomorrow!

Forgotten Blessings!

I was having a really bad week! Actually a really bad month!!!!!! I was feeling overwhelmed with so many things. I couldn't keep up with the laundry, dishes, toys around the house, the checkbook, the kids, and anything else you can think of. All I wanted was my husband to stay home and help me get caught up. He was working overtime on a restaurant that started on fire, so he wasn't getting home until the kids were in bed. So I was having to get EVERYTHING done around the house all by myself. I felt like I was drowning, and as soon as I would catch a a breath of air to keep me from going under, here came a big wave of stuff to knock me back under water. I was so frustrated with myself, because I wasn't being who I knew and wanted to be. I felt like I was taking it out on Brielle, and that wasn't fair to her. I was so unorganized with birthday's coming up, and so much to do I felt hopeless. Stuff would sneak up on me and I wasn't prepared when it came to getting it done. I was almost at my wits end. Kelsie is teething, which makes her really irritable. In fact for 3 days straight she just wanted to be held. Even while she was sleeping. How do they know when you put them down when they are snoring? Anyways, I was just so frustrated and looking for an answer to some of my problems when I found this on a blog.

If you are frustrated with not knowing what to cook for dinner tonight- remember that there is a mother in Africa who just longs to have food to cook for her children.

If you feel overwhelmed by the children you have- think of the woman who cries herself to sleep at night begging Heavenly Father to be a mother.

If you are frustrated with a spouse who works overtime- think of the family with no job, no income who wonders where their next paycheck will come from.

If you worry about keeping all of the "stuff" cleaned up in your house and wish you didn't have so many toys to clean up- picture the family who lost everything in a fire , who have no "things" to clean up.

After I read that It made me think about all the blessings I have that I am taking for granted. I am so grateful for my husband. For the work he does to give us the things that we need. It doesn't bother me when he works overtime, but I DO MISS HIM when he is gone so much. I am so thankful that my kids have toys to play with, even though I am constantly stepping on them and putting them away. My biggest problem is trying to figure out what to cook for dinner, and make sure that what is cooked is liked by everyone. But I am very blessed to always be able to put food on the table, even if it's not EVERY ONES favorite. So in a nutshell I have had a change of heart and I have realized that my life could be way worse than it is. Just because it doesn't get done exactly when I want it done, remember that it takes time to get things done when you have 3 little mess makers at home. ( 4 if you count the oldest, Jason) Since I have been such a downer I would like to first, thank you and congratulations for making it through this post. Second, end on a good note. Last night my sweet baby Kelsie, who hardly ever cries, wasn't feeling good and just wanted to be held. She was actually like that all day, anyways. After obviously seeing my frustrations, my WONDERFUL husband cleaned the kitchen, and living room. There's more! AND did not one, but two loads of laundry while I fell asleep holding my baby! How did I get so lucky! I LOVE YOU HONEY! What a blessed woman I am! I LOVE MY FAMILY!!

ANOTHER HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

Happy Birthday Brielle! My first born, and my first daughter! We started that day off by going to her Jazz basketball game. She made a basket and was so proud. Grandma Donna, Uncle Tommy, Grandam Connie, and Grandpa Wes all came to cheer Brielle on. Then after the game she handed out treats and had team pictures. Next we are going to go to High School Musical 3, and out to eat at the new Red Robin! Wish us luck getting in!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

Today is carter's birthday and he is 2! I can't believe how fast he has grown up! He has lost is baby look, and is starting to look like a little man. He is such a funny little kid! He likes anything that has wheels, but his favorite thing is motorcycles. He goes around making engine sounds all day. He has a couple of motorcycles that he plays with that make noise, and if it doesn't make noise he will make on for it! He is starting to talk to much. His first words, after mom and dad, were cheese and boo. He loves his cheese! And like his dad he's a jokester. He is always ready for a good scare! He is such a good boy and is always happy ans smiling! He is known for his spiky hair. Since the day he was born it has stuck straight up. Just like he has been electrocuted. I love it! He also has these gorgeous blue eyes. Unlike the rest of our family, we all have brown eyes. Keslie's are hazel for the time being, but we'll see what happens. Carter can just bat those beautiful blue eyes and Grandma's and Grandpa's and they will get him anything! Well the birthday boy is up so I better start celebrating! We are going to McDonald's to eat and play, and then it's off the the inside zoo. (That's what we call PETCO) Since it's to cold to go to the real zoo. Lots of pictures to come later. Everyone have a great day, I know we will!
