Forgotten Blessings!

I was having a really bad week! Actually a really bad month!!!!!! I was feeling overwhelmed with so many things. I couldn't keep up with the laundry, dishes, toys around the house, the checkbook, the kids, and anything else you can think of. All I wanted was my husband to stay home and help me get caught up. He was working overtime on a restaurant that started on fire, so he wasn't getting home until the kids were in bed. So I was having to get EVERYTHING done around the house all by myself. I felt like I was drowning, and as soon as I would catch a a breath of air to keep me from going under, here came a big wave of stuff to knock me back under water. I was so frustrated with myself, because I wasn't being who I knew and wanted to be. I felt like I was taking it out on Brielle, and that wasn't fair to her. I was so unorganized with birthday's coming up, and so much to do I felt hopeless. Stuff would sneak up on me and I wasn't prepared when it came to getting it done. I was almost at my wits end. Kelsie is teething, which makes her really irritable. In fact for 3 days straight she just wanted to be held. Even while she was sleeping. How do they know when you put them down when they are snoring? Anyways, I was just so frustrated and looking for an answer to some of my problems when I found this on a blog.

If you are frustrated with not knowing what to cook for dinner tonight- remember that there is a mother in Africa who just longs to have food to cook for her children.

If you feel overwhelmed by the children you have- think of the woman who cries herself to sleep at night begging Heavenly Father to be a mother.

If you are frustrated with a spouse who works overtime- think of the family with no job, no income who wonders where their next paycheck will come from.

If you worry about keeping all of the "stuff" cleaned up in your house and wish you didn't have so many toys to clean up- picture the family who lost everything in a fire , who have no "things" to clean up.

After I read that It made me think about all the blessings I have that I am taking for granted. I am so grateful for my husband. For the work he does to give us the things that we need. It doesn't bother me when he works overtime, but I DO MISS HIM when he is gone so much. I am so thankful that my kids have toys to play with, even though I am constantly stepping on them and putting them away. My biggest problem is trying to figure out what to cook for dinner, and make sure that what is cooked is liked by everyone. But I am very blessed to always be able to put food on the table, even if it's not EVERY ONES favorite. So in a nutshell I have had a change of heart and I have realized that my life could be way worse than it is. Just because it doesn't get done exactly when I want it done, remember that it takes time to get things done when you have 3 little mess makers at home. ( 4 if you count the oldest, Jason) Since I have been such a downer I would like to first, thank you and congratulations for making it through this post. Second, end on a good note. Last night my sweet baby Kelsie, who hardly ever cries, wasn't feeling good and just wanted to be held. She was actually like that all day, anyways. After obviously seeing my frustrations, my WONDERFUL husband cleaned the kitchen, and living room. There's more! AND did not one, but two loads of laundry while I fell asleep holding my baby! How did I get so lucky! I LOVE YOU HONEY! What a blessed woman I am! I LOVE MY FAMILY!!

ANOTHER HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

Happy Birthday Brielle! My first born, and my first daughter! We started that day off by going to her Jazz basketball game. She made a basket and was so proud. Grandma Donna, Uncle Tommy, Grandam Connie, and Grandpa Wes all came to cheer Brielle on. Then after the game she handed out treats and had team pictures. Next we are going to go to High School Musical 3, and out to eat at the new Red Robin! Wish us luck getting in!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

Today is carter's birthday and he is 2! I can't believe how fast he has grown up! He has lost is baby look, and is starting to look like a little man. He is such a funny little kid! He likes anything that has wheels, but his favorite thing is motorcycles. He goes around making engine sounds all day. He has a couple of motorcycles that he plays with that make noise, and if it doesn't make noise he will make on for it! He is starting to talk to much. His first words, after mom and dad, were cheese and boo. He loves his cheese! And like his dad he's a jokester. He is always ready for a good scare! He is such a good boy and is always happy ans smiling! He is known for his spiky hair. Since the day he was born it has stuck straight up. Just like he has been electrocuted. I love it! He also has these gorgeous blue eyes. Unlike the rest of our family, we all have brown eyes. Keslie's are hazel for the time being, but we'll see what happens. Carter can just bat those beautiful blue eyes and Grandma's and Grandpa's and they will get him anything! Well the birthday boy is up so I better start celebrating! We are going to McDonald's to eat and play, and then it's off the the inside zoo. (That's what we call PETCO) Since it's to cold to go to the real zoo. Lots of pictures to come later. Everyone have a great day, I know we will!

Rollie Pollie Ollie

Kelsie has been rolling over for about a week now! She rolls from her back to her stomach! No more leaving her on beds and couches. She's mobile! Hopefully not mobile enough that she will be able to get to the Christmas tree when we put it up. Her eye hand coordination is getting better everyday. She grabs anything and everything that is within her reach, especially hair! She's really good at grabbing stuff off your plate when you're not watching. She's growing up so fast! She has such a sweet spirit about her! She is always so content. We didn't even know she could be fussy until last week when her teeth started coming in. But 99% of the time she is always smiling, and has started to laugh when her dad tickles her. We love her lots!!!!!

Look at that gappy smile!

Things are falling out everwhere!

Brielle just lost her third tooth. This time it's her front tooth! She was eating a carrot, and it just popped out!! And better yet the other one is just hanging on for dear life. Jason keeps telling her it won't be long until you can sing, "ALL I WANT FOR CHRISTMAS IS MY TWO FRONT TEETH!" While we were doing our regular tooth check we discovered that she has two other teeth that are so loose they are almost ready to just fall out when she sneezes. The poor girl won't have any teeth to eat Thanksgiving dinner with at the rate her teeth are falling out!

Fall Fun!

We have been so busy with all the fun fall events around our house, I haven't had time to even write about it. We were invited to a Pumpkin Walk for family home evening the Monday before Halloween. The whole big town of Firth was invited! One of the events was a pumpkin carving contest. Brielle and I scoped out the internet for carving ideas, and when we found the perfect one Brielle carved it the best she could. We took it over before the party started so it could be judged. Later that night when it got dark we to the party. They had made a windy walkway of glowing pumpkins. After we walked through they had a maze for big kids and little kids. Brielle and Uncle Tommy went through the big kids maze and Carter went in the other. That was pretty exciting for Carter, since it was totally dark and he could run anywhere he wanted. As the night started to wind down went to get treats. They had a big wheel that you spun to see what treat you got. Brielle and Carter both got the coveted caramel and white chocolate covered apple. The rest of us got cookies and rice crispy treats. They also had the best hot chocolate! After we chatted with some good friends we headed home. The next day when we returned home from town, we found our pumpkin on our front porch with a letter and a prize attached. Brielle had won the kids carving contest. She was so excited she had to tell anyone she saw, many times!!!!!!! Thanks Christensens for a night of great fun!
